WHY IS FINDING REAL ESTATE SO DIFFICULT EVEN FOR THE WELL-CAPITALIZED TENANT?
To exist legally, operators need to have a premise that is zoned properly, with no federal loans, and a welcoming owner. That’s a tall order presenting obstacles to many companies.
Given the scarcity, operators must pay a premium for spaces even before accounting for quality and features.

Lucien Lidji has been in real estate since 2001, working with Robert for the entire time. Lucien has done $200M in New York real estate sales and has himself bought and sold 7 properties in the past decade. A native New Yorker, Lucien is energetic and personable, and is always happy to share his time and experience. The key precepts that have made him successful are his diligence and commitment. Lucien is disciplined in his approach to vetting each property and each tenant, and having experienced the roller coaster activity of the 2004-2012 period without a loss, he maintains his financially conservative practices sometimes to a fault. He holds an MBA from Baruch’s Zicklin School of Business in New York, and relocated to California with his family in late 2016 specifically to manage the acquisition and leasing of cannabis properties throughout the state. To this end, he attends all the important conventions to connect with as many industry players as possible. Having lived in Paris and travelled extensively, he adds worldliness to his insight and speaks fluent French.
